New CEO Georg Kirchmayr

Neukirchen, Austria, July 1, 2022 – Georg Kirchmayr has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AGILOX as of July 1, 2022. He replaces Helmut Schmid, who leaves the company for family reasons. AGILOX co-founders Josef Baumann-Rott and David Niedermaier will join the management board as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), respectively. The Advisory Board of AGILOX thanks Helmut Schmid for his commitment to the company and wishes him all the best for his personal and professional future.

Prior to joining AGILOX, Mr. Kirchmayr was CEO of the Wels-based, global intralogistics automation provider TGW Logistics Group from 2000 to 2017. Most recently, as Chief Logistics Officer, Mr. Kirchmayr was responsible for automating the intralogistics of XXXLutz on the customer side. Under his leadership at TGW, the company grew from a local Austrian niche player into a global market leader with a turnover of over 800 million euros. His experience in scaling and internationalising medium-sized companies in the intralogistics industry will be instrumental in driving AGILOX’s growth ambitions.

As CEO of AGILOX, Mr. Kirchmayr will be responsible for strategy, sales and marketing, organisational development, human resources as well as commercial aspects, while AGILOX co-founder David Niedermaier will be responsible for technology and product development and AGILOX co-founder Josef Baumann-Rott for production and purchasing.

AGILOX experienced a very successful first half of 2022. The new product AGILOX ODM (Omnidirectional Dolly Mover), an innovative Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) for the transport of small load carriers, was presented at the Logimat trade fair in Stuttgart. The AGILOX ODM is already the fourth AMR product category from AGILOX, alongside the ONE (for light pallet-based load carriers), OCF (for heavy pallet-based load carriers and stacking applications) and NFK (for load carriers with a smaller width and trolleys or roll cages). At the same time, the team in the US was significantly expanded and the opening of a branch in China has laid the foundation for expansion into Asia. AGILOX’s commitment to further investments in international expansion will be a critical driver of future growth. Furthermore, additional production and office space was added to the site in Neukirchen near Lambach to create the necessary capacities for future growth.
